Visiting the souks on holidays to Egypt

I can’t wait to go on my holidays to Egypt this year since I’ve heard so much about the souks. I’ve been there before, but only stayed at the resort and went to the pyramids one day, which was OK but not really up my street. I was a bit unsure of venturing out myself at that time because of all the riots, but this time I’m going to go all out and experience every part of Egyptian culture. I hear the old souks are the traditional shops and where most locals still buy their goods today. I am going to try some shisha too, which I hear is delicious.
