Hollywood Sign: A Symbol Of The American Pop Culture

September 29th, 2011

American pop culture was born in Hollywood. In 1923, Hollywood put up the iconic Hollywood Sign as an advertisement. Surprisingly, it became one of the most popular tourist attractions in United States soon after that. And so, it was decided to never remove the sign and was then recognized as a symbol of American pop culture. The Hollywood Sign spells “Hollywood” in 45 feet tall, white letters. It stands on the Hollywood Hills of Los Angeles, California. It is so popular that it is even featured in many TV shows and movies. 20th Century Fox’s CGI fanfare logo even has the Hollywood Sign as its background.
