We are planning to take another trip to USA this year, as we did enjoy our travels there in past years. Last year we went to UK and although it was most interesting, it did not have the appeal of some locations we have on our list for this year in California and the north eastern USA States, including New York. We are planning this trip carefully, as we have been caught out previously with accommodation not quite matching our travel plans. On one trip we drove from Nevada to Yosemite National Park in California on a Saturday, only to find that our accommodation booking had been made by mistake for the Friday night before. It was quite frustrating as darkness fell and we had the alternative of camping in tents (they assured us the bears were very friendly) or driving back to the nearest motel. We chose the latter, but it taught us a lesson to check our bookings and travel arrangement carefully and this has prompted us to do more ourselves, rather than relying in others. It does also allow us to obtain cover for a pre-existing medical condition we have within the standard policy and at no additional cost.
