My girlfriend Becky beat me in two games of chess last night. I was astounded that she beat me twice. We had started playing this game against one another in college and have been going back and forth over the past few years. She had never beaten me twice until then. While playing we talked about driving up to Newquay one of these days. We have both been up there before; however never together. We wanted to go there together and spend time.

My sister is finally getting settled in. I can tell in the way she talks about expat life that she is feeling more comfortable in the new location. At first the transition was tough but now when I talk to her it sounds like she may not be ready to come home at the end of the year. I can’t say that I blame her. My cousin Daisy told me the other day she and her husband are planning an awesome trip to Fuerteventura. I had never heard of this destination, but Daisy tells me it’s one of the Canary Islands.
